What is Glucomannan?
Glucomannan is a soluble and fermentable dietary fiber from the konjac root plant. Its chemical structure is similar to that of galactomannan (from guar gum) and comprises a polysaccharide chain of glucose and mannose.
Glucomannan can absorb up to 200 times its weight in water and forms a thick, gel-like mass that has been shown to be approximately five times greater than that of guar gum.
What are the key benefits of Vitacost® Glucomannan?
As a dietary supplement, take 3 capsules per day with an 8 fl oz glass of water 30-45 minutes before a meal or as directed by a healthcare professional.
Pregnant or lactating women, diabetics, hypoglycemics, and people with known medical conditions and/or taking drugs should consult with a licensed physician and/or pharmacist prior to taking dietary supplements. Consume an adequate amount of liquid when taking this product as this product may swell in the throat, causing blockage or choking. Do not use if you have had esophageal narrowing or difficulty swallowing. Keep out of reach of children.
Sealed with an outer shrink wrap film and an inner seal. Do not use if either seal is broken or missing. Keep dry and at room temperature (59º-86ºF [15º-30℃]).
